GHAZNI CITY (PAN): 26/11/11 The Security Transition Commission chairman on Saturday discussed the second phase of transition with officials and influential figures in southern Ghazni province.

Afghan forces were ready to take over the security responsibility from their international counterparts in the province, Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai told a joint news conference with Governor Musa Khan Akbarzada in Ghazni City.

Ahmadzai said history showed that Afghans had effectively defended their homeland. He added President Hamid Karzai was expected to announce provinces and cities for the second phase of the security switch on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Akbarzada said Afghan forces were ready to provide security for the entire province.
